ELTs for Commercial Aircraft
Avioparts is Authorized Kannad Aviation Distributor and Programming Center!
Fly safe with the Kannad Aviation range of ELTs
With a full suite of TSO’d 406MHz ELTs and a worldwide network of runway-based service centres, Kannad Aviation brings you two decades of emergency beacon know-how and a level of support second-to-none in the industry.
Kannad ELTs are fitted to a wide variety of commercial aircraft including Airbus, Boeing, ATR, BAE, Bombardier, Canadair, Dornier, Embraer, Gulfstream, McDonnel Douglas, Antonov, Illushin, Shorts and Tupolev.
Central to the Kannad Aviation ELT system for fleet operators is the concept of the programmable dongle, which stays with the aircraft, not the ELT. When a product is removed for service it can be replaced with any other Kannad ELT, and as soon as the dongle is connected, all the relevant programming information for the aircraft is uploaded to the ELT. This significantly reduces or even eliminates AOG time due to ELT service.

Kannad 406 AF
The Kannad 406 AF is designed to be installed near the tail and to be connected to an outside antenna. A sophosticated “shock sensor” will activate the ELT automatically in the event of an impact. The 406AF can also suit helicopter installation, with the mounting tray fitted 45° nose down.
All the features of the COMPACT plus GPS and internal 406MHz antenna. Sending a distress message with GPS coordinates enables rescuers to come directly to you, rather than search the area. The INTEGRA also features internal 406MHz and GPS antennas saving significant cost on installation in many aircraft.
Kannad 406 AP
Automatic Portable ELT: Type ELT(AP). A variant of the 406AF which includes an auxiliary antenna so the unit can be activated away from the aircraft. Designed primarily for fixed wing aircraft the 406AP can also suit helicopter installation, with the mounting tray fitted 45° nose down.
The ultimate rugged portable ELT, the Kannad 406 ELT(S) is designed to be installed in the aircraft cabin or the liferafts, and can be supplied with a mounting bracket or a carry-off bag. The 406 ELT(S) is available with or without a water switch and the three frequency transmitter – 406, 243 & 121.5MHz – is connected to the supplied antenna via a TNC connector.
